The Art of balancing keywords and content Part II

Posted By: Jean

Where should you use your keywords? Keywords are found in virtually anything you can find online. Here are some examples:

• article on a website.
• home page and sales pages.
• blog posts.
• product descriptions.
• on websites and in blog tags and headings.
• contact pages, FAQ.
• and just about anywhere else on the web.

Doing this is essential to getting a high page ranking in the search engine result pages. Yet, it does not have to be a complex process. In fact, it is often best to put keywords in the back of your mind while writing content for your website. Write what really matters and then come back to keywords later.

One of the old saying still stands true today, “Content is king“, when it comes to Internet marketing. If you are putting up a page on your website, you want the person who visits your website to say, “Wow, this is great. I’m bookmarking this page to come back here often.”

The best way for this to happen is to include quality information on each pages of content you provide to your readers. Later we will go through the process of providing quality content. Before doing so, lets consider what would happen if you did not have good valuable information on your website.

1. You use keywords on your pages, but fill them with fluff content. Your reader gets to your page and thinks, “this does not help me,” and moves on.

2. The reader gets to your website and finds errors. You can no longer be trusted and they leave your site.

3. The affiliate programs you are working to earn money from visit your website. They find it poorly designed with little information. They decide that you are not a good fit for their company. They no longer offer you membership in the affiliate program.

4. You get no inbound links to your website. Inbound links are those which are pointing to your website. Google finds these to be valuable when ranking websites. If another website (or several of them) find your website to be a good resource, they definitely will rank your website higher. But, other websites will not do this if your content is poor in quality.

5. You make little to no money with your website since it is poorly ranked and is not attracting any repeat visitors.

The bottom line is that website content needs to be well-written and organized. It needs to be informative and useful to anyone who will visit and read it. Otherwise, you’re wasting your time and others too.

The Art of balancing keywords and content Part I

Posted By: Jean

There is no denying the importance of keywords used in any content that is placed on the Web. Keywords allow you and everyone else who uses the Web the ability to find what you are looking for. If you need just one bit of information, you likely would spend countless hours in research trying to find it if it was not for keywords.

As an Internet marketing professional, how do keywords relate to your own business? Usually, if you are using the Web as a marketing tool in any way, keywords are an important component.

In this article serie, we will examine the importance of keywords. We also compare it to the importance of quality content. Is it possible to have great content and still have great keywords in your final copy? It is possible, and in fact, it is necessary to do this if you wish to have a successful website or blog.

Before getting into these details, let’s start at the beginning. What are keywords? They are words people type into a search box when they are looking for something online. For example, let say you are looking to purchase a table. You get online, go to the search box, and type in the word “table” into the search box. The search engines start looking for websites that relate to that keyword. Within seconds, there is a long list or results in front of you which is called a search engine results page from which you can choose from.

Now, on the flip side of the coin, if you owned a website selling tables, you would want to attract this person to your website. To do so, you need to have your website displayed on the search engine results page. To do this, you need to have the most appropriate keywords on your website. So, for example, you need to have the word “table” used properly on your website for the search engine results to actually see your website as valuable to this search.

Using keywords will help you prove your value to the search engines. The key is to know what helps you to rank well and what may not help you. Less than a decade ago, people took advantage of the keywords. Pages and pages of websites had virtually nothing but keywords on them. The problem is, when a website is packed with just keywords, it is likely not to be packed with information!

Here is an other example: Jim designs a website to attract visitors who he hopes will visit the affiliate pages he is linking to. So, he plans to put lots of keywords on his page. That way, his website will rank well, right?

There are two problems with this process. First, there is little chance that anyone who comes to such a page will feel it valuable enough to stick around and click onto affiliate links.

Second, Google and other search engines have made significant changes to their complex algorithms. Websites that have too many keywords on them will be ranked lower in the search engine results pages.

The key is to know what the actual best percentage is. Of course, Google is not going to tell you just how many keywords to use. They do offer a lot of in-depth information that you can use, though. It is this information that you want to rely on to get the results you are looking for. Google is not “always” the bad guy: At the end, they just want to provide search engine users with the best results that will help solve their problem.

In the next articles, we will go over some of the best strategies for getting the right keywords in the best possible ratio into your sites and articles for the best overall performance.

Business Blog – A Must, not an option

Posted By: Jean

There’s one thing that remains constant as far as the best way to get noticed on the World Wide Web and it is Blogging.  Now, if you have a Business, then it’s a no brainer that you need one fast. They’re definately more of a necessity than an option for your Site’s success, and here is why.

Blogs have been around for many years. They started out, in the beginning, as great personal journals for internet users who wanted to share their daily lives with their family and friends. Now, fast forward through the years to today; where they are now more of a business tool to use and less of a personal journal.

Blogs are basically mini-websites that the authors use to post information about a specific topic. Some blogs share experiences of an author’s career path, while others provide up to date news concerning the topic their blog presents.

What Makes Them So Special To Business Owners?

Blogs can provide so many reaping rewards for a business that no site should actually be without one. Here are some of the benefits it can provide any business owner:

Drives more targeted traffic to their site

Blogs are favorites of search engines. They provide up to date content on a regular basis, so search engines will find them easier. Blogs can also be linked with other like-minded blogs to allow for more click-through visitors. Social bookmarking sites, Social media sites and even message board forums love them as well. People will refer their friends to them when they see something they like.

Gain regular visitors

If a visitor likes your blog, they’ll keep coming back to see what else you have to say on that topic. Your blogs can be linked to your site, so the more they visit, the more chances you have of getting them to your business site.

Gain Expert Status amongst your Target Audience

The more you blog about your site’s topic, the more you come across as an expert in that field. A visitor can be awed by the information you’re offering them and could look up to you as an expert in that topic. Now, the next time they need to buy a certain product, they will think of you.

Ease of Use and Inexpensive to boot

There are blog programs that you can sign up for free or for a small fee. Most blogs are easy to set-up as they generally walk you through the process step by step. There aren’t too many marketing tools that are as easy to use and inexpensive to obtain. That makes it painless on your business budget.

Easier to upkeep

Blogs are fun to use, which makes them much easier to keep them updated. Posting regular tidbits of your chosen topic keeps them updated without a lot of hassle to go through. Updating websites are essential, but can be time consuming and confusing as well.

The biggest benefit business blogs provides is…

Building Rapport With Your Target Audience

This is, by far, the best benefit you can get from a blog. Blogs have comment sections that your readers can leave messages for you to let you know they liked what you said in a post or to add their own thoughts.

You’re building a relationship with your target audience that can help gain trust from them as well as find out what they’re looking for in a product. This is your way to get an inside look at what your customers wants and needs are without spending lots of money on marketing surveys.

Blogs can give your business all that and more if you add them to your arsenal of marketing tools.

To your success, always

5 Benefits of Outsourcing for Online Business Owners

Posted By: Jean

When you are in business for yourself, especially one that is conducted online, you’ll find there are a number of different things for you to learn about that can save you time and make you money. Outsourcing is by far one of the most exciting things to discover and put to use.

All too common is the business owner who feels they have to do everything themselves in order for things to go smoothly in their online venture. This couldn’t be farther from the truth! In case you’re curious about why so many online business owners are singing the praises of outsourcing, keep reading to see just five of the many benefits it can obtain.

More Value for Your Time

When you own an online business, one of the most important things to remember is how much your time is really worth. When you think about the dull or repetitive tasks that you are doing, you’ll find this work is not worth your high per hour price tag! When you outsource, you’ll pay someone else to take care of those responsibilities while you give attention to the more important, money-making projects.

Saving Resources

Think about everything that goes into the tasks that you would outsource. This will range from things like your time and space to costs such as Internet and software. After awhile all of these costs add up. For instance, graphics software can get quite expensive. If you are outsourcing an activity, you get more than just the task itself out of the way. You will also get someone who specializes in areas of your business that you may not know quite as well as or have no desire to learn. More than likely these people will already have the tools needed to complete their assignment. Depending on the project, this might save you money and learning time. This brings me to the next benefit of outsourcing.

Going to the Experts

The tasks you are outsourcing might not be ones that you have no desire to learn about, whether they are troubleshooting, manufacturing, taking orders, website design and maintenance, or something else. By handing the work over to an expert who enjoys and makes it their business to know these things, you’ll be able to take advantage of their knowledge in the area without having to learn it yourself. This in turn will give your customers or clients more than you could possibly give them yourself.

Expand

When you outsource, you will soon realize that you are in a great place when it comes to getting more involved with your business. You will be able to expand and provide everything your customers need. Outsourcing frees you up to try new things with your business, learn more and experience new aspects of your industry.

Accountability

When you outsource, you will have a contract with the person or company you are working with. By having someone else who is depending on work from you, you are more apt to stay ahead of the game by planning better and making sure that you’re tasks are getting completed as well.

When you first begin learning about and implementing outsourcing techniques within your business, you’ll find out those boring or repetitive tasks can easily be handed off to someone who enjoys doing them. This will allow you, as the business’ owner, to free up more time to concentrate on more important aspects of your business such as product creation, advertising, networking and other marketing practices.

These are the things that will help your business to grow even more profitable.
